Home - Grow Project
Wonder Wigglers Farms produce a lot of worms. In order to ensure that we have healthy stocks to meet future demand and support our other large commercial recycling ventures, we have designed and succesfully operate both Home Grow & Commercial Grow Projects.

We pay very careful attention to how our worms are bred and allowed to mature. We do not supply to fisherman or live feeding of exotic reptiles. We care for our worms not to see them destroyed.
With any wormery that has been properly cared for, it will become apparant that worms do like to breed! So much so, that it wouldn't be long before any system becomes too crowded. Overcrowding can cause stress as the worms compete for food that may not be available. We at Wonder Wigglers know that four months is the peak period for spare worms to be both available and able to be harvested.
If you are interested in being a part of this simple yet very rewarding venture, all you have to do is contact us and we will be more than happy to supply further details. We guarentee paying £18.00 per kilo for excess harvested worms - harvested every four months. We guarentee paying the new rate of £1.04 per kilo for the compost material produced if you do not wish to keep it.

Now to answer the question "Why Compost Using Worms?"
Good question. In short, the average household throws around 19% of food waste away every year. 50% of average household waste is recyclable, (we are concentrating on food waste for the present). Local authorities invest massive amounts of public money in collecting this type of waste, collected in colour coded bins, (which had to be massed produced) moved by heavy lorries and shipped to designated sites were the waste is processed. That is a very expensive operation. Whilst it may seem that it is helping the environment - it actually harms the environment more because extra lorries are employed to cater the need to remove this type of waste. Very few authorities use Vermicomposting (Composting using worms)

Composting using worms is not a new idea, but, certainly one that is growing in popularity and being used by schools and hospitals as a way of reducing waste, waste that would otherwise end up in landfill.
Worm composting is far more efficient and quicker than normal heat composting. Were traditional compost methods can take up to a year to achieve graded medium, worm composting produces a far superior product in around 14 days! From food waste to compost - 14 days!
Worm casting - the product produced by worms, does not smell, but has a slight "wet grass" aroma. Worm Casting is a very valuable product and is packed with all the nutrients your plants, garden, trees and lawns need. Worm Casting contains natural enzymes and deterrents for anthropoids, weevils and green fly infestation. If you grow your own peppers and tomatoes, worm casting a prized product - made from your kitchen and garden waste - naturally.
